I have met hundreds of elders and maybe out of all that amount, about 50 DON'T need therapy. The rest need 1,000 years of psychological help. Wait, maybe that fits. I've heard that number before.......

  I think in Acts it's written that Peter agreed to baptize Cornelius and his whole household, seeing as they were filled with holy spirit all at the same time. (before they'd been baptized)

  i do not believe what the wts says, i do not want to belong to that org.

  because of that, i no longer have contact with my family.

  Even the NWT proclaims that Jesus was persecuted to disfellowshipping death for his religious beliefs, which were in opposition to the doctrines and practices of the scribes and pharisees.

  Miso, as a matter of fact, I've been considering what would be the best retort in the simplest and briefest words when jdubyas come knockin' on my door. I think I've found it in that scripture about the hypocrisy of the scribes and pharisees. "I have no interest in the teachings and writings of the scribes and pharisees of the WTS. B'bye."

  we spend about $500 per month.

  that's with a family of three, two adults and one small child.

  included in that is dog and cat food, and other household items many people buy at the grocery store, such as shampoo, detergent, paper products etc.

  We are just two adults, but our groc. bill is comparably the same as yours, including all the paper, laundry products and personal hygiene products, too. And we cook from scratch half the time.

  Fortunately in Europe they can't use hormones to augment meat weight in cows and they won't even allow in American beef for this reason.

  Why do the local congregations always pay for the D.O. and C.O. visits?

  every time a circuit and district overseer visited our congregation,the elders always wanted a show of hands from the congregation to see if we would pay for their car expenses and travel.sometimes the congregation would pay for airline tickets.it was always approved.. do you know if the idea came from the local congregations to pay?

  did the wts send out letters to each congregation to see if they would pay?

  we know that the wts always get what they want.. it's amazing how we paid $250-$400 for each overseer visit and the wts paid nothing..

  IMO, the D.O.'s and C.O.'s have put themselves in position (having accepted their respective posts from the GB of the WTS) as yet another pimple on the butt of the society's R&F. They are allotted a minimum allowance and the rest must be provided by the various congregations which they visit.

  Additionally, they specifically are required to dress in expensive finery. They've been given this right duty by the GB via the WT mags, wherein the GB's writing dept. has even given the example that Jesus was enrobed expensively, not in peasant garments, but in garments befitting his kingship.

  Disclaimer: This is not a slam against ALL C.O.'s and D.O.'s, just a great number of them and the heirarchy above them for making it so.
